Here is the first of my 2009 finishes to share with you. It was in a hardcover Better Homes and Garden Christmas Stitching book that I bought off of Amazon. Unfortunately I sold the book on ebay and don't remember the year or exact name. I want to say Christmas Celebrations??? Anyhow I used the called-for Weeks Dye Works overdyes and changed the thread on the word ROSE from London Fog to Sweetheart Rose. The stitch count in the book was wrong-it said 88 X 42. It was actually 164 X 171. I found the frame at the local Fred Meyer on sale! If it looks old and chipped, it is supposed to look like that. It hangs on the bathroom wall.

GAR Tree Top Angel Start!
I just saw the shadow on the bottom of the photo-oh, well, I think you can still get the gist of this beautiful project. This is my latest start-- Gay Ann Rogers Tree Top Angel. I substituted Watercolors 047 Camouflage for the main color. It has a holiday dark red/dark green color scheme to it. and might lead to more thead changes, but for now I have what I need to get started. The 18 ct canvas has gold flecks in it
My goal is to have this finished by Thanksgiving, since the Christmas tree goes up on that day. We have been "making do" with an ugly Ziggy star for the tree topper. This should be a huge change for the better!
After counting today I have 15 WIP's sitting out in my stitching area! Whew! Stay tuned-there is much more to share-I am just getting started!

Four Bows of Christmas
Here is Renaissance Designs Four Bows of Christmas. I am struggling with the stitch guide. My stitching philosophy is to use some basketweave areas for eyes to rest on in the piece. So I have bogged down on this piece. The good news is that when I pick it up the stitching goes really fast-the dimensions are a little under 6" on each side.
I also have this design on a K's Creation lap stand. I am still getting used to using it. What do you think about lap stands? When I stitch in bed, it can be a little too heavy to use.
I am still waiting on my shipment of Kreinik #4 metallic thread to finish off my February installment of the ANG SOTM. AND I have kitted up Gay Ann Rogers Tree Topper angel--pics of that tomorrow!

Second Day of Christmas
Here is my Renaissance Designs Second Day of Christmas. I forgot to mention yesterday that I used stitch guides for both days written by Pamela Harding. She is an amazing stitcher and inspiration!
I have been stitching while watching the Olympics. And yesterday I almost completed the February installment on the ANG Stitch of the Month for 2010. Picture coming soon! To find out more about the ANG SOTM click here.
I also completed two more letters on my Prairie Schooler ABC SAL. A picture will be coming soon on this one too! If interested you can follow that SAL here.
As soon as I figure out how to add a page to this blog, I will be posting some for sale and/or wish items. Come back soon!

No Longer Just a Lurker!
I was planning to start this blog on January 1,2010. I mean, how long can I keep from sharing all the wonderful stitching I have been inspired to try by watching all the great stitching blogs? I watch far more in Google Reader than shows on my sidebar.
Please bear with me as I am struggling to learn how to manuever around on this blog! Hopefully, by the end of this year it will look much better than today! :)
First, do you like the picture in my header? It is a pillow that I completed for my little girl. Of course that was 1984 and she is now 28. :) I liked the way it turned out so much that I bought another kit, but it is still in my stash-never put together!
I have decided to start out my postings sharing some recently (or not so recently) finished items. Today is the Renaissance Designs First Day of Christmas Santa in globe. I am working on this series but have a long way to go! It was finished by a wonderful lady in my local EGA guild. The Second Day of Christmas will be next--stay tuned!
