BBD Mystery Sampler Update

I couldn't let this weekend start without an update. There has been stitching going on, but only on this design. For some reason, I couldn't put it down. Part 3 is finished. Please forgive my poor ironing and photo skills.

I made one substitution-I couldn't find the GAST Basil and wondered if it was supposed to be the WDW Basil?? The WDW Basil sure looked like the thread in the photo on the pattern cover. It is a purple/grey overdye. Well, my skein of WDW Basil was 2/3 grey and 1/3 purple. And the grapes needed more purple! So I used WDW Purple Majesty-wow! that is purple!

And I have neglected to put eyes in the blackbirds yet. I will revisit them at the end of the project. They might stay blank or not?? We'll see.

It would have been nice to make some headway on the Mary Glover SAL and the Jardin Prive SAL, but this one is part of the Crazy January Challenge. :)

I am going to another Make and Take class at my local quilt shop tomorrow. It is a mystery class! I'll keep you posted! Have a great weekend!

  2. Great progress! It's lovely. I noticed the typo on Basil and my ONS sent me WDW Basil. I noticed my skein is more grey than purple too. Love the substitution thread you picked!

  7. Yep, there was an error in the book and they never corrected it. When I did mine, I just stitched the grapes with the more purply part of the floss. Fortunately I had WDW Basil on hand, that doesn't mean I didn't go crazy looking for GA Basil for about a day! Nice progress!
