Here is what I have been working on-Jenny Bean's Halloween Sampler. I am finished with the inside portion and starting on the border. The colors are much more appealing than the picture on the chart shows.
I was working on this in a hoop, but when I tried ironing the hoop marks to take the picture--they do NOT want to come out. And since I am using overdyed threads, I didn't want to use a steam iron or spritze with water. So I did the best I could with a dry iron and put the sampler on stretcher bars to finish it. What do you recommend? I am also having trouble with the hoop marks on My Lady's Quaker.

If I use a hoop I only use the spring tension type. It holds it just tight enough or just loose enough depending on how you like, but the spring is so narrow that it makes very few marks on the fabric. It doesn't crush the fibers, and it is so easy to get on and off that you are not tempted to just leave it on. To press my items I use Downy wrinkle releaser spritzed very lightly on the wrong side, and I let it sit for a few minutes to relax the fibers before I iron. I've never had anything bleed, and the wrinkles come out so easily!
I think that I heard that putting it in freezer for a while and then ironing will help get the marks out. Maybe as you work on it now that it's stretched some of the wrinkles will relax a little bit.

I don't see hoop marks, but maybe putting some batting, felt, or just white material between the hoop and the fabric might help. Natalie's suggestion sounds great. Whatever you do, it's a great piece and looks wonderful!
I don't see any hoops marks either but what I usually do is just roll it up when finished (roll, not fold) and put it away in tote bag that hangs on my closet door for about a month. The hoop marks just fall out on their own. By the way, Jenny looks beautiful! I love this piece!
