2010 Finish-Bloom Where You Are Planted

Birds of a Feather
Bloom Where You Are Planted
Unknown fabric
Called for GAST threads

I have been seeing several blogs working on or finishing up this design. So, here is mine! This was an in-the-purse project for stitching when there are unexpected "waiting" times. The stitching still went really fast!

My husband did a great job framing it for me. OK, I will admit that the frame is from..... (gasp) the dollar store! Yes, it is a faux wood (read plastic) frame. But it has a reddish tint that goes great with this design.

Jenny Bean's Halloween Sampler got started yesterday and I hope to have another finish for you tomorrow. Plus I am getting ready for a stitching/movie day with my daughters on Saturday. Looking forward to that!

Nice finish. Janet Perry's blog was asking how we are stretching our stitching dollars and what we can do to make people change the perception that needlepoint (Janet has a needlepoint blog) is a expensive hobby. You found a great way to economize and the Dollar Store will work for many budgets.

That's adorable. And your frame works very well with the piece. Great job.

The great frame is what caught my attention first- the color is perfect for this piece. Very nice finish!

Congrats on the finish!! And your husband did the framing--that's fantastic. Great team work. I'd say that the money you saved buying the frame at the dollar store can be reinvested in stash. Just saying...;)

That is a cute variation of a sampler. I almost didn't notice the letters & numbers (cuz I was looking at the frame). I'm so used to seeing them in rows that yours is a nice change of pace. The frame is a great color for the piece. I doubt a framer could do any better. The threads & our time is a large investment in a piece - to add a high priced frame is just too much to justify sometimes. Thanks for letting me know that I am not the only one being frugile.
