Mary Wigham Update

Here is the latest on Mary Wigham. I am a little distressed over how many very light threads there are and how they disappear on this linen. I am ready to start substituting some more colorful threads. What do you think?

Below is what she looked like when I started stitching.

I see what you mean about the light colored threads. I think it looks fine though....but if you started substituting from this point on, won't the light colored threads you've already used look out of place where they are?
It is a beautiful piece.

Teresa, Normally I would agree and say start switching to some darker colors but there is something very eye catching in the way this is coming out. It makes me want to look at it again. I would also suggest before making the leap to darker colors, especially if you are going to frame when finished, that you put some frame colors you might use along 2 sides to see what it does to those lighter colors. You might be surprised how those lighter colors will show up. Lorrie

It looks wonderful. Yes there are light colors, but it is soft looking..I agree with lpat, maybe putting a few frames to it will give a new perspective.....

Its very pretty, I think the lighter colours give it a faded, old look.

I like the light colours too, they do make you look twice at the design. It's looking very pretty so far!

I think it looks very pretty this way, Teresa. Love the cute, little squirrel motif :)

Nice progress, Teresa.
I love the light colours in this piece, they look so fine and delicate and definitely catch your eye, at least for me.

Colors are just a suggestion - use your own choice and you'll like the finish better.

Happy Stitching!
