Still Stitching

I went to a retreat at the Pacific Ocean at the end of April. Here is the view from the patio of the house I stayed in.

This is looking straight west.

This is looking south.

Oh, the ladies at this retreat are such wonderful and talented stitchers!
Here is just a little of the show and share-

I must admit that most of my stitching I am sharing today was completed at this retreat.

Crabapple Hill Lace Daisy Needlebook

Half Pints Woolen Pin Cushion

Just Nan Grow Tin top

Crane Design Pumpkin Sewing Pouch and Scissor Fob

Half Pints Patchwork Pillow Thru The Year-October

On May 7th I was so lucky to attend a class sponsored by my LQS with Debbie Busby from Wooden Spool Designs AND Gail Pan from Australia.  This was the 2nd time I have attended classes with both ladies.

This is Gail's project for the day. I have not jumped on the hexie bandwagon.  But these are large ones and I think I can handle seven of them!
But there is some needleturn applique in a circle.  Yikes, I have avoided that like the plague.  We'll see.

I was also able to purchase Gail's new book for Christmas embroidery.  And guess what she has designed in the book?  Yes, a Christmas tree skirt using giant hexies!  Love that idea!

Debbie's project was a home run, too.  Debbie even furnished the Ball jar!  I finished the jar band and the pin cushion at the class. The pin cushion uses a vintage metal Mason jar lid for the base-- like those pictured on the pattern front below.

Another new pattern by Debbie with different vehicle ornaments. Love this idea for small sons/grandsons.  Not breakable and can be hung low on the Christmas tree. Debbie made an adorable garland with these.

I just finished the last of the EGA Round Robin band samplers.  I stitched the nativity scene on the bottom.

That's it for now. I'll try to post more often so the posts don't get so long.
Happy hump-day!
